Green Collar Girl

What we are up to!
Introducing Dusty’s sister, von Schlottke’s Calypso. It was great to see her and I was very impressed her obedience and AMAZING ability to do a bark n’ hold at almost six months
Great job training her Nancy!!

Dusty heard that her sister was a little rock star today, so she was trying to impress me with her tricks of tossing her toys around. She also moved to the floor to let me know I need to vacuum!!

Work kept me busy last week… no exciting training updates, but at least the family and dogs got to visit me at my undisclosed location

Frodo digs a LARGE hole in the fenced dog area.
Dusty lays in the hole with her head poking out.
Snips is glaring at her.
Anyone see the irony in this? My dogs bring me great joy…
It feels great to be back in the saddle and training after my five month hiatus. It was good break for me and I think it allowed Frodo to mature without me chomping at the bit to push him faster than I should.
At 12 months Frodo continues to make me smile. He extremely level headed, almost to the point I was getting concerned. He will play tug and bite like a very happy boy, but NOTHING seemed to tick him off. He approaches life with a cup half full theory and has a confident and happy demeanor to everything he encounters. Knowing his mom and dad, I knew the anger was in there and wanted to be very careful on how I opened that can of worms.
Now that he is turning 12 months, we have decided to test him a bit with civil work and I am pleased with his response. He responded how I hoped he would and once the threat was taken away, he had his happy demeanor back. I was able to walk him off the field and have anyone pet him without a second thought. He is EXACTLY what I was hoping to produce with my B-litter.
For tracking we did two tracks that were heavily bated. He had great focus and when I took him out for the second track, he knew exactly what we were going to do. He dragged me to the flag and did an excellent track.
Obedience was one of those days. He did everything I asked, but it felt flat. Honestly I don’t know if it was him or me, because I wasn’t that into it either. He may have been feeding off of me or who knows… I kept the session brief and put him up.

Zelda and Charlie Brown were excited to meet Dusty. They welcomed her into the pack and attempted to show her how Dobermans play

Introducing Dusty!!! Hopefully better pics soon… Just don’t ask why she has a D-name.
We are getting lots of snow and she just gave me the big ol’ “Wha da fahh!!” When I took her for a walk in this stuff. Currently she is finding every squeaky toy and chompin’ away. I love listening to Mike tell her to stop the squeaking. She pauses for a brief moment and the squeaking starts again ![]()
